Extractions

There may come a time when a tooth is deemed necessary for removal (extraction) to alleviate pain, disease or facilitate an implant ensuring a healthy mouth. But don’t worry, there is nothing to be afraid of, as the dentists at CareDental perform the extraction in fairly painless manner.

While our primary goal is to help you retain your natural healthy teeth, there are many circumstances when an extraction may be in your best interest, including:

  • Impacted wisdom teeth
  • Excessive crowding
  • Bite problems or TMJ
  • Infection or gum disease
  • Significant damage or decay
  • Space needed for restoration or orthodontics

Dental Implants

Ever wondering what is a Dental Implant?

Dental implants are small titanium posts or screws that are surgically inserted into the gums and into the jawbone. Given some time to heal, they fuse with the jawbone, thus functioning just like your natural tooth root would. Once fused we can fit a brand new crown to replace a single missing tooth, a bridge to replace multiple missing teeth, or a new set of implant supported dentures for a brand new, fully secured smile.

There are several different types of dental implants. The most popular and frequently used is the root form implant. The root form dental implant is a small, medical grade titanium device which resembles a screw. They are placed inside the jawbone and contain connections that will support a crown, a group of crowns (bridge) or a full or partial denture once the implant has fused with the bone.

Dental implants can solve problems that dentistry previously had no solutions for. For example, dental implants can:

  • Replace lost teeth without requiring you to wear an appliance you will have to take in and out like a denture.
  • Replace missing teeth without having to place crowns on either side of the empty space as required for a bridge.
  • Prevent loss of jawbone in the areas where teeth are lost

Implant supported crowns have a longer average expected life and are generally easier to clean and maintain than dental bridges.

At CareDental we have the skills & technology to perform dental implant surgeries in the most caring manner, keeping your comfort at the heart of it all.

When left missing long enough, the jawbone may deteriorate to the point where dental implants are no longer an option. That’s why it’s important to consider dental implants before it’s too late.

Root Canal

Don’t fear the Root Canal anymore!

What is Root Canal? In simple terms, root canal treatment is the removal of the infected soft tissue and nerve within the tooth and its replacement by an artificial inert ‘filling’ material. This procedure basically saves the decayed tooth and eliminates dental pain. The presence of absence of the nerve doesn’t affect the day to day functioning the tooth. Once the area has completely healed, the dentist will put a permanent crown over the tooth to prevent it from being broken or damaged over time.

When is Root Canal required?

Decay of the teeth (cavities) if left untreated, generally progress and gradually destroy a significant portion of the tooth before reaching the ‘pulp’ (NERVE) of the tooth. The pulp of the tooth is a thin soft tissue present in the tooth canals consisting of mainly nerves and blood vessels. Once this infection reaches the pulp it gives rise to a common ‘dental pain’. At this stage the tooth can only be saved by performing a root canal treatment.

A root canal procedure requires one or more appointments and can be performed by our experienced dentists at CareDental and heals rather quickly, if cared for properly.

You will be given care instructions after each appointment. Good oral hygiene practices and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your root canal treatment.
